Gloria’s Glorious Gloryhole

Fringe World’s 80s pop diva returns with new show at Rigby’s

GloriaPrepare for 1980s domination with “Gloria’s Glorious Gloryhole” set to take over Rigby’s Basement Cabaret Lounge on Thursday August 11th.

Fresh from her sell-out run at this year’s Fringe World, Gloria’s Glorious Gloryhole is a fast-paced, loose hipped, rib-tickling cabaret of 1980s classics.

Gloria is the latest creation of Maylands singer and comedienne Chloe King, conceived in a whirl of gin, sin and 80s tunes. Gloria, wearing shoulder pads that would make a third world dictator blush, delivers a fun, cheesy, slightly naughty 80s cabaret show with style, gusto and more than a dash of cheek.

While recounting the highs and lows of the decade intermingled with her own hilarious personal experiences, Gloria belts out a roster of instantly recognisable pop classics, aided by accompanist extraordinaire Siouxsie (Tara John).

The show is an entertaining hour of reliving a decade that was slightly trashy, always over the top, but nothing less than fun.

With flashes of Whitney, Chrissie, Annie, Freddie, Bonnie and Madonna, and of course, a healthy dose of Gloria2good old Laura Brannigan , Gloria will have the audience singing along and crying out for more.

Get your taffeta, velour and power suits on, with a chance to win prizes for the most fabulous and cheekiest 80s outfits. Think legwarmers, Hawaiian shirts, mullets, eyeliner, bleached denim and ra-ra skirts.
Come and get deliciously dirty with Gloria in her delightful den of musical sin. Gloria will be up close and personal with very special guest Magnus Danger Magnus from Danger Cabaret

Don’t miss Gloria’s Glorious Gloryhole at Rigby’s Cabaret Lounge, 221 St Georges Terrace in the Perth CBD on Thursday August 11th, kicking off in style at 7pm.

For bookings, please check the Rigby’s website, or call on 9324 1196.  Seating is cabaret style. Tickets are $30 or $60 with a 3-course dinner with a full a la carte menu and bar available.

Please book in advance, as tickets do sell fast.

Sophisticated & impressive stage shows

Twisted vaudeville circus‘I had a vision in my head of the ultimate show that I would be proud to be a dancer in, it would include all my favourite styles of performance into a fusion type menagerie of theatrical oddities, contortion, Chinese lion dance, drag, circus aerials, burlesque… There was nothing like it in Perth at the time, so I created it from the ground up, starting small and building our cast until we launched our first show ‘Dark Cabaret’ July 31st 2010.
– excerpt from radio interview, Founder and performer Kelly Cook
Western Australia’s première circus cabaret show, the Twisted Vaudeville Circus is a performance troupe of Perth’s most talented artists and performers, a production company of unique one-of-a-kind artistic shows. Established in 2009 Twisted Vaudeville is now a favourite in the Perth cabaret scene and was recently nominated for several awards at the Perth International Fringe Festival.
Reminiscent of a 1930’s travelling sideshow, Twisted Vaudeville presents a unique menagerie, a dynamic blend of elaborate costumes, musical gems, exotic dances, beautiful creatures, dark cabaret, circus acts, acrobatics, drag, and up-side down cabaret!
– Arts Hub Review
The performers impress with their technical skills as well as clever costumes, bright smiles and infectious enthusiasm,he various live performances were delightful and inspirational.
